Challenges

Challenges become available after defeating Tyrant Overlord Baal for the first time. Challenges are the main way to progress through the game and gain power to defeat stronger gods. Each challenge can be completed multiple times, and some of them will increase/decrease in difficulty the more times you complete the challenge.

Challenges provide two kinds of rewards: base challenge rewards (God Power and exclusive perks), and Challenge Points (ChP). Every challenge has a unique reward to boost your power in various aspects of the game. All challenges provide challenge points, which can be spent on different upgrades. Completing a challenge set also provides 50% extra CHP, and may also provide an additional bonus depending on the challenge.

Hard Mode challenges are different, in that they only reward you with Hard Mode Challenge Points (HMChP). Hard Mode challenges are unlocked after having 10,000 regular Challenge Points, and they can be activated with a toggle in the Challenge list screen.

Types of Challenges

There are 6 types of challenges: Normal challenges, Multi reset challenges, Day challenges, GP reset challenges, and Unlimited challenges. Some challenges have a Hard Mode version that increases the difficulty.

Normal Challenge: You rebirth normally and complete a particular goal. You keep your current multipliers.
Multi Reset Challenge: Your multipliers are reset to their starting values, and your goal is to kill Baal (or sometimes higher). Multi reset challenges sometimes have restrictions like barring the use of divinity.
GP Reset Challenge: You lose all your GP purchases (clones, build speed, creation count, etc). Your pets also usually do not provide any bonus to your multipliers (not always the case). All Dungeon runs and Tavern quests will be cancelled when starting any GP Reset challenge. Your goal is usually to kill Baal or complete a specific task.
Day Challenge: These involve seeing how much you can achieve in 24 hours. Instead of doing these challenges a set number of times, you redo them whenever you think you can significantly improve your score compared to your previous attempt. Your highest score is kept, and rewards update when you get a new high score.
Unlimited Challenge: These challenges can be completed an unlimited amount of times for their rewards. You will normally be chaining these only after you have completed most other challenge sets.
Hard Mode Challenge: Different from any other category, these challenges are activated with a toggle on the Challenge list screen and behave similarly to their regular counterpart but with increased scaling difficulty.

Challenge Overtime

Challenge Overtime is the time spent in challenges you have already maxed. You can find your overtime in the statistics page, under the challenges tab. If you have not unlocked Azure Dragon, you can click its 'Unlock' button to see its Unlock dialog box which will show your overtime in hours (rather than days & hours as in the statistics page). Most types of challenges have a maximum number of completions for which completion rewards will be given. Once maxed, those challenges could be done more, but normally would provide no reward. They do provide Challenge Overtime. Every hour in a challenge that is already maxed, provides one hour of Challenge Overtime. Completing a challenge stops the clock.

Uses of Challenge Overtime:

  • Wolf evo requires 24 hours or more of Challenge Overtime.
  • Azure Dragon unlock requires 333 hours or more of Challenge Overtime.

Challenges often chosen for Challenge Overtime:

  • P. Baal Challenges number 26 to 50. The PBC max cap gets increased from 25 to 50 on completion of 20 UCCs. You will do these eventually and doing them beforehand earns overtime.
  • No Rebirth Challenges number 21 to 25. The NRC max cap gets increased from 20 to 25 on completion of 20 UCCs. You will do these eventually and doing them beforehand earns overtime.
  • Wolf gets a boost to its Item Camp bonus with the completion of several Challenges beyond the normal max.

Some challenges can be completed an unlimited number of times and still provide completion rewards (Unlimited Challenges, Hard Mode Challenges, Day Challenges). These provide no Challenge Overtime.

Planet Multi Challenge gives some reward even after the max of 50 PMCs is reached (it continues to give 150 GP per completion), and does give Challenge Overtime.

List of Challenges

A good plan is to start with one UBC to unlock the crystal factory, followed by a DPC, then DRCs.

Normal Challenges

Starting these challenges is like a normal rebirth, so starting without a loss in power like other challenge categories.

Multi Reset

When starting these challenges, you will do two rebirths setting your stat multipliers down to 1. You will retain all, or at least most, GP purchases and all other benefits.

GP Reset

As the name suggests, these challenge reset your God Power purchases setting your God stats to starting-value. Pets, challenge rewards, and other perks will still apply in most of these.

Day Challenges

These challenges have a 24 hour time limit (excluding RTI) and do not have a specific goal to complete, but rather a reward based on a score determined by the challenge rules. Day Challenges are usually repeated every 6 months or so for a better score.

Unlimited Challenges

Going into infinity, you will continue to get rewards from these challenges no matter how many times you do them.

Hard Mode Challenges

Reaching 10k ChP unlocks HM Challenges. A 'Hard mode' toggle appears near the top right of the Challenges pane.

Harder versions of the challenge they are based on, with increasing difficulty the more you do. These reward you with Hard Mode Challenge Points that increase your main stats.
