Hamster evo.png

A humble hamster that has lived a quiet life in the forest. It was only when it met two new friends, one that was small, while the other who wielded magic, that it decided to come out of its home. Curious about the hammer it was carrying, it gained inspiration to become the student of the great blacksmiths. At the same time, it wanted to use its talents to help out not only those who wielded weapons, but also those who used magic as well.

Special Ability

Hamster is the only pet that can Craft, Reforge, or Upgrade the Ear Muffs item.

Hamster has a hidden 30% bonus to defense, and 10% penalties to attack, health and speed.

Token Upgrade

At the cost of a token, Hamster will gain three new abilities:

  • Its blacksmith class level scaling bonus will increase to 0.85% x CL.
  • Additionally, Hamster will receive half of the additive crafting speed and quality bonus that Elf and Dwarf receive.
  • Finally, Hamster will boost the damage of mages in dungeons by 0.25% x CL (double for Basilisk if Hamster is a blacksmith).

The crafting bonus is the average (mean) of the bonuses of Elf and Dwarf. E.g. if Elf has a bonus of 10% and Dwarf 0%, Hamster will receive an additive 5% bonus to crafting speed and quality. If Elf has a 38% bonus and Dwarf has 5%, Hamster will receive an additive 21.5% bonus to crafting speed and quality.

This bonus, when capped, will be equal to Elf's cap (as Dwarf's bonus is also capped at being equivalent to Elf). Due to the gem cost involved with upgrading Dwarf's bonus, it is generally advised not to invest into improving this bonus until you are mostly done providing gem upgrades to your team.

Strategy

In the early game, Hamster is one of the first specialist Blacksmiths to become available (though you still need to evolve at least one Wildcard Blacksmith first, to make a hammer). Dedicating Hamster to crafting will speed up your early equipment production.

Hamster is the only pet who can make Ear Muffs, so he will likely spend a great deal of time crafting and upgrading a full set of those, to cover all of your Alchemists and Blacksmiths into the foreseeable future.

In the later stages of the game, Hamster may either be sent to the Strategy Room to sit in the Defense slot (it is the optimal pet for this), or it may be token-improved and sent into the Forest dungeon to boost your damage dealer(s).
