Special Ability
- If she is an Alchemist, Vampire has double stats in dungeons, and can gain class experience in them.
- She is also immune to the burn status effect from traps like the Burn trap.
- She additionally gains an additive bonus to her crafting speed of sqrt(growth)%.
- When she kills a monster in any dungeon or tower, she collects one unit of monster blood.
- She can gain extra growth through crafting unique potions from monster blood. Each blood potion gives her 100 base growth, but she is limited to using 10 potions per Dungeon Level.
Due to her immunity to Oilburn, Vampire makes a great addition to a Depth 4 Volcano team. Along with Succubus and Improved Ape, Vampire is one of the best choices for a fire-elemental damage dealer in this dungeon.
Monster Blood and Blood Potions
Monster Blood is obtained by Vampire when she deals the killing blow to an enemy in dungeons. Summons, and all other enemies that do not drop experience, do not drop blood when killed by Vampire.
Vampire, and Vampire alone, can craft Blood Potions from 6 Monster Blood and 1 Sun Stone, and can choose to consume them at any time to gain 100 base growth (thus, 150 total growth if PGCs are all done), up to a cap of Dungeon Level x 10. Blood Potions may be consumed immediately to further increase her crafting speed bonus, or stockpiled to finish TGC runs quickly. Note that Vampire consumes all available Blood Potions when the button is pressed, so if you're using them for TGC, you'll have to calculate the correct number of potions to craft and hold each time.
Alternatively, if you are using Vampire in dungeons you may want to instead wait to consume Blood Potions until Vampire is at the growth floor of your Growth Campaign, as this will allow you to improve Vampire to be temporarily above this limit (similar to Carno's ignoring this limit for its initial evolution and Succubus's increased limit).
Token Upgrade
Vampire can be improved using a Pet Token, increasing her utility in Dungeons. Upon improvement, Vampire receives increased stats from Strategy Room and also increases the stats of all other pets in her same team by (10 + number of consumed blood potions / 500)% of her stats. She also gains the ability to decrease enemy HP by 1.5% per attack, and also increase her own damage and speed damage by 1.5% per attack.
This increased power makes Vampire an important member of late game dungeons and superbosses.
Strategy
Unlock
Vampire was a popular first choice to token unlock due to her high base growth and bonuses to multiple useful campaigns (especially Growth Camp); however, Student may be a better choice now. Vampire, Student and Thunder Ball (previously called Raiju) are all pets with similar bonuses. In any case, it is recommended you only get one and not the others since these pets take quite some time to evolve for an Earlygame Player.
Affinity with Baby Carno
Due to her impressive food camp bonus, Vampire, along with Witch and Tödlicher Löffel, has an excellent Early and Midgame role of helping Baby Carno to grow in food camp, as even unevolved she will produce more food than most Adventurer Specialists.
Late-game Dungeons
Due to Vampire's immunity to the Oilburn trap and her 2x Dungeon stats as an alchemist, she is a popular choice to use in D4-1+ Volcano. She is exceptionally durable compared to other pets, who will gradually lose fire element over time and take increasing damage from the enemies in the dungeon.
In a speed damage based team, Vampire can allow you to artificially push beyond what you can ordinarily accomplish (at the cost of many phoenix feathers). She does this by simply remaining alive, allowing you to revive the rest of the team every turn if need be.
With the token improvement, she becomes even stronger than this: her attacks scale to the enemy's max HP, making her a destroyer of Ancient Mimics, all while contributing extra stats to the whole team. On top of that, her stats increase over the course of each dungeon trip. Tokening her and then putting her into your Depth 4 Volcano team in place of any other damage dealer is likely to let you increase the difficulty level by 1 or 2 points immediately.
